Hands-on consultancy for your own build
Alongside contract and R&D work, we offer hands-on consultancy for anyone looking to build their own boat — whether from a set of plans, in stages over time, or as a single complete project. This work draws on the same traditional and modern boatbuilding techniques (and combinations of the two) used across our marine projects, and is also available for related work in automotive, rail, aviation and architectural composites where relevant.
We can be involved at whatever stage suits you:
- Consultation only — reviewing plans, materials, and build approach before you start, or troubleshooting a build already underway.
- Component build — we build specific elements for you to fit yourself, for example the hull, or hull and deck as a unit.
- Partial fit-out — we take the build through to a defined stage and hand it back for you to finish.
- Full fit-out — a complete, on-site build through to a finished boat.
Work can be carried out on-site, and stages can be mixed and matched to suit your budget, timeline, and how much of the build you want to do yourself.
