15 Metre Catamaran

This 15-metre (50ft) sailing catamaran was built from Alexander Verhus’s drawings through to completion, in a build carried out with the team at Mono and Multihull Boatbuilders in Holland. One plug was used to mould both hulls, with two separate deck frames built for each side. The decks were laid up in the same 25mm foam sandwich construction as the hull, though with a lighter laminate schedule. Once cured, each deck was lifted from its frame, fitted in place, and the outer skins bonded directly over the foam and onto the hull. Launched as Tulipa, the finished catamaran made her maiden voyage across the Atlantic, sailing into harbour in Curaçao.
